DESPITE the “No Dumping” signs prominently displayed in the area, trash continues to be dumped at the Chalan Kanoa cemetery, community volunteer Max Aguon said.

“Please dispose of your thrash responsibly,” said Aguon, who works for the Division of Parks and Recreation.

Last week, on his day off, he was at the CK cemetery to dispose of the illegally dump trash in the area.

Aguon also discovered illegally dumped trash on private property near the CK cemetery.

“Please, let’s comply with the law,” he said, referring to the anti-littering act, which is supposed to be enforced by the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality, the Department of Lands and Natural Resources, Public Health, the Department of Public Works, Office of the Mayor, the Commonwealth Zoning Office, the Department of Public Lands and the Department of Public Safety.

A recipient of many commendations and awards for his islandwide cleanup activities, Aguon said he is thankful to DPA Car Mart, JEMCO Ltd./Mobil, and U.S. Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan for their support.

He also thanked Precinct 2 Reps. John Paul Sablan and Manny Castro for supplying him with materials to clean public restrooms on the island.

Aguon likewise thanked Saipan Mayor Ramon “RB” Camacho and staffers for helping maintain the CK cemetery.
