THE Department of Public Safety’s 27th Cycle Police Academy has no set date yet to begin, DPS public information officer Sgt. Fred Sato said.
“We are still waiting for the Office of Personnel Management to process applications,” he added.
“[Once] interviews are done with qualified applicants, we should be able to give a set date for the next academy to start,” he said.
In October, DPS Commissioner Clement Bermudes said the police academy would probably start in November.
DPS has announced 25 slots for the 27th Cycle Police Academy.
In its most recent Citizen Centric Report, DPS stated that funding and manpower are among its main challenges.
