From Jan.1 to June 6 this year, the Division of Employment and Training Services Director Alfred Pangelinan reported 158 new job openings and 2,872 renewal applications.
He said during the same period, there were 541 job vacancy announcements for transfers, 117 for replacement, and three for temporary work.
Pangelinan said based on their second quarter report, about 1,786 employers and 564 employees registered for JVAs.
There were 1,117 inquiries and 334 received replies, he added.
But only 25 workers were hired from January to June.
Pangelinan said there were JVAs for 3,055 certified applications by employers and 696 uncertified applications.
“The employers are in compliance with the requirements on JVA posting,” he said, adding that his division has also implemented measures to determine whether employers have posted job openings for specific positions that they need.
Pangelinan said he is always reminding employers to comply with the 20 percent local workforce requirement.
His division reported 787 JVAs for 23 kinds of work, 173 of which were for sales and related occupations.
There were 121 JVAs for food preparation and serving related work.
According to Pangelinan, 378 resumés were submitted for 23 job descriptions, including 84 for sales and related occupations.
