
(Press Release) — Rep. Julie A. Ogo has formally requested the Department of Public Lands, under the leadership of Secretary Sixto K. Igisomar, to expedite the review of RFP25-RED002 – Lease & Development of Public Lands on Rota (the former Rota Resort & Country Club), which closed on June 23, 2025.
In her letter, Ogo underscored the urgency of advancing this process, emphasizing the importance of revitalizing the former Rota Resort & Country Club site as a catalyst for economic development and job creation for the residents of Rota.
“I strongly believe this project has the potential to generate significant benefits for the people of Rota and the Commonwealth as a whole,” stated Ogo. “We must maintain momentum so that our community can see progress without unnecessary delays.”
Ogo also congratulated Secretary Igisomar on his recent confirmation as secretary of the Department of Public Lands, expressing confidence in his leadership and commitment to advancing public land initiatives.
“The people of Rota are ready to work collaboratively with Secretary Igisomar and the Department of Public Lands to ensure the best possible outcome for this important public property,” Ogo said.
