Supporters can add their signature at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/save-tamat-beach/ to show their “support for the preservation of natural resources for future generations to enjoy; to protect the fragile coastline from being permanently damaged; and to maintain the family-friendly public atmosphere that currently exists at Tamat Beach.”
The petition targets all government agencies/officials that have a “decision” stake in the matter including the Zoning Board, Coastal Resources Management, the Division of Environmental Quality, the Department of Public Works, the Legislature, and the governor.
The group aims to collect 2,500 signatures or more. Nine people had signed the petition as of yesterday afternoon.
Individuals can disclose their full names and post comments, but they can also keep their identities private if they want.
Those who want to sign the petition can also visit the group “Save Tamat Beach” on Facebook or email [email protected].
Membership of the “Save Tamat Beach” group on Facebook, which was created last week, totaled 1,100 members as of yesterday afternoon.
Blue Water Homes LLC plans to construct an 80-unit residential structure in the Tamat Beach area.
