Outstanding KagHS students recognized

School principal Alfred B. Ada said the students learned  “wonderful subjects” and the electives required by the Public School System.

“PSS and Kagman High did not set this up just to make you work hard, but to test your interests, see if you have special aptitudes and to test your brain in a rounded way,” he told the students

The community award recipients were: Joseph Ryoichi Jr. Kumagai, Mayor of Saipan Award; Sakurako Madonna Koyama Halstead, Outstanding Female Graduate Award; Jonathan L. Norita, Rotary Club Vocational Award; Dion Shante Diaz, Miki Dela Cruz and Luella Lyn Orlando, Robert C. Byrd Scholarship recipients.

The Marine Corps Award for Scholastic Excellence went to Leulla Lyn Orlando and Bofan David Cabrera; the Semper Fidelis Award recipients were Richard Ogumoro and Miki Dela Cruz; while the Distinguished Athlete Award was given to Francisco S. Ada and Dion Shante Diaz.

The content area awardees were: Dion Shante Dian and Miki Dela Cruz for language arts in English; Dion Shante Diaz and Bofan David Cabrera for mathematics; Bofan David Cabrera and Elsiana Taitano for science; Bofan David Cabrera and Mindy Castro for social studies; Jaylynn Torres and Joana Norita for college prep I and II; Renaesha Cepeda, Ashley Hofschneider and Tiffany Santos for business management; Mylulang Litulumar and Louri Ann Guardian for yearbook I and II; Frank Nawaz and Jaylynn Torres for tourism; Dion Shante Diaz and Joseph Kumagai for physical education I and II; Jesselyn Dris and Corina Dela Cruz for co-op I and II; Isaiah Lizama for cabinet making I and II; Eugene Manglona for electronics I and II; Sakurako Halstead and Chrishia Leon Guerrero for art I and II; Sakurako Halstead and Mindy Castro for foreign language, Japanese; David Rasa for computer; and  Kagman JROTC for JROTC.
