Parents should be part of children’s learning process

“It has always been us, PSS, who’s got to be responsible for the students education [and other needs],” Sablan said. “It is time for parents to get involved, too.”

A PSS report indicated that parent involvement seems to decline as students get older.

“Parents must participate in their children’s school activities and contribute to their learning,” Sablan said.

If there is a law that mandates PSS to provide children with education, there should also be a law requiring parents to participate in their children’s education.

Parents should be contributing to their children’s learning, getting involved in their activities, providing them with their necessary school needs and helping them achieve success in school, Sablan said.

“This will make education better for the children,” she added.
