We’ve selected a ‘Mad Hatter’ theme so that everyone can come dressed up wearing a fun creative hat,” said Mili Saiki co-chair of this year’s event.

“We’ll have a hat contest as well as an encore performance by legendary Hawaiian entertainer Willie K and his Band,” said Saiki.

The raffle contest will feature a grand prize of $15,000 and first prize of $10,000 cash along with many great prizes like plane tickets, vacation packages and much more.

(MHS) —  All freshmen Marianas High School students must obtain a blue health card from the Department of Public Health, showing that the student has all of his/her immunizations.

Failure to submit this health card may result in your student being suspended from school.

lue cards may be submitted to the registrar’s office, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m- 4 p.m.

Students may pick up their class schedules on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 3and  4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the counseling office.

Returning students must return all textbooks from last school year.

The first day of classes for all students is Tuesday, Sept. 8. Homeroom will begin at 8 a.m. sharp. Students will be released at 3 p.m.

First-time voters urged to register

(CREAM) — The Coalition for Recognition, Equality and Advancement of American Ethnic Minorities, or CREAM, is calling all U.S. citizens of  ethnic descent — Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Bangladeshi, Japanese, etc. —   to register with the CNMI Election Commission so they can exercise their right to vote on Nov.  7.

CREAM is encouraging young voter, especially those who will turn 18 year old before or on Election Day, to register.
