The church’s head pastor and event organizer, Rev. Raffy Armia, also installed the officers and committees of the Bangon Pilipinas, or Rise Philippines, movement.
“What the Filipinos need is principled leadership to combat the growing problem of corruption and poverty,” Armia told supporters and volunteers of the party.
“The nation needs a leader who has integrity, character, competent, patriotic and above all, one who is godly,” he said.
Quoting John Maxwell, Armia said “everything rises and falls on leadership.”
Villanueva, he added, will offer a new brand of politics to transform the Philippines.
During the rally, organizers showed a video and song presentation “Who is Bro. Eddie?” and “Ito ang Aking Panahon,” or “This is My Time,” performed by noted Filipino singer and composer Rey Valera.
