A PHOTO shop filed a police complaint on Tuesday against one of its employees who allegedly sold its cameras to a pawnshop.
Ray Kamatoy Alvarez, 39, allegedly stole and sold a Pentax camera, two Nikon cameras, two Nikon flash, and a 120-film holder, all worth $5,156.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Pete C. Muna said the receipts recovered by the manager of Tropical Color in Garapan showed that Alvarez sold the items to an establishment called “Pawnshop” located in Garapan.
Muna said Kazuko S. Lizama, manager of Tropical Color, told the police that her assistant manager was told by a fellow employee that Alvarez was seen at Pawnshop last March 28.
Lizama’s assistant checked the suspect on Monday morning at his residence where they discussed about the items.
When the assistant manager asked about the company-issued cameras, Alvarez gave him three receipts from Pawnshop.
The receipts bearing the cameras identification matched that of the inventory of the Tropical Color’s equipment, the complaint said.
The assistant manager then informed Lizama about the incident.
