Federal Park Ranger Susan Fishman yesterday urged all photographers on Saipan, Tinian and Rota to expose the beauty of the islands to the world.
“We would like to encourage all photographers to capture the views of our islands — their natural, scenic and historical wonders and join this contest,” Fishman said.
The Share the Experience 2010 Official Federal Recreation Lands Photo Contest submission period will be until Dec. 31, 2010 while the judging phase will end on Jan. 15, 2011. The voting phase will end on Jan. 31, 2011.
The grand prize winner will get a 5-day, 4-night trip to a federal recreation area for four people, an Olympus E-P2 kit with lens, gift cards, shoes and an interagency pass. Prizes are also at stake for the second, third, and fourth place winners as well as 10 honorable mentions.
Photographers can submit up to three photo entries taken in a federal recreation area from Jan. 1, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010.
Submissions can be done online or you can mail your entries in a hand-addressed, stamped envelop postmarked by Dec. 31, 2010.
Limit one entry per envelop and address it to “Share the Experience 2010 official Federal Recreation Lands Photo Contest, c/o National Park Foundation, 1201 Eye Street, NW, Suite 550B, Washington, D.C. 20005.”
