On the agenda of the two-day conference were nationwide issues of tax reform, social security and financial outlook of the FSM.
The conference was opened by FSM Congress Speaker Isaac Figir, who thanked all of the state delegations for their participation.
All four state legislatures of Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei and Yap were represented along with the members of the FSM Congress.
Each of the delegation made their opening statements and clearly stated a united position on the repeal of the amendments to the Social Security Act.
Chuuk Sen. Innocenti Oneisom said “despite the strong opposition of the states to the amendments, the FSM Congress went ahead and approved them.”
