Police file assault charges vs teen, former girlfriend

Police filed additional criminal mischief charge against Gwenavere DLG. Emiliano, 21, for throwing out of the car a USB flash drive owned by the mother of Hierzan Martinez, 19.

Judge Ramona V. Manglona imposed a $1,000 unsecured or appearance bond on both the defendants, and directed them not to miss classes.

Emiliano suffered a bleeding right ear but refused medical assistance, police said. She said Martinez punched her.

Martinez, for his part, said his former girlfriend punched him in the right eye, police said.

Detective Catherine Pangelinan said Martinez was at home on March 4, at about 7:30 a.m., when Emiliano called him and asked him to take her out and buy her a drink.

When they were in the car, Emiliano tried to take out Martinez’s wrist watch, police said.

Emiliano also asked Martinez to skip school so he could make  her happy, police  said.

But Martinez said “no” and  Emiliano then took the USB flash drive from the car stereo and threw it out of the window, police said.

Emiliano also grabbed the stirring wheel from Martinez while the car was going down Kagman. She wanted to steer the vehicle off the road, police said.

“I don’t care if we die,” police quoted Emiliano as telling Martinez who warned that they would crash.

Martinez drove back to his house and told his mother to drop off Emiliano at her house, police said.
