APIA (Samoa Observer/PINA) — Police confiscated a cache of guns and 32 marijuana plants during a raid at Fasitoo in Samoa.
The weapons included a 12-gauge pump action gun, a .22 repeater and a semi-automatic hand pistol. The cannabis plants have been destroyed.
Though the drug haul was small, the police are alarmed at the sort of guns those involved had in their possession.
Four men were captured in a follow-up raid.
The police were alerted by a farm owner who reported that his employees had been roughed up by men.
Police Superintendent Li’o Masepa’u said cannabis-related offenses were on the rise, especially on the West Coast of Upolu.
