The affected areas are Isley Field, Commonwealth Ports Authority grounds, As Perdido and lower Dandan. The power interruption will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 1.
“The purpose of this interruption is to install isolation cut outs on power poles near the Isley Field Water Wells,” CUC Executive Director Abe Utu Malae said.
The transformer change out will minimize future power interruptions at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, he said.
Because of the scale of the work that will be performed, travelers are asked to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
CUC apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from these projects and the power interruption.
