He said at 12:45 noon, engine #3 suffered high water temperature and overheated.
This required plant personnel to turn off the power on Feeder 2 which covers Beach Road Garapan at Fishing Base Kristo Rai south to San Jose intersection.
Camacho said the engine was put back online at 1:05 p.m.
From June 2 to Aug. 18, engine #3 had been operating at a constant capacity of 5 megawatts in Power Plant 1.
CUC’s power generation status report showed that during a three-month period, engine #3 was down once due to an abnormal sound in one of its cylinders.
The engine is designed to generate 7.3 megawatts.
At 1:45 p.m. yesterday, engine #6 suffered electrical problems, affecting Kiya 4 which covers San Jose, Susupe, Mount Carmel, Oleai, and other areas.
Camacho said engine #6 was restored at 2:45 p.m.
He added that the power plant resumed its regular load shedding schedule prepared for the week.
Camacho said there are still three engines running at Power Plant 1: numbers 2, 3 and 6.
