REPRESENTATIVE Diego Camacho said interested community members can still apply for the four vacant vendor slots at the Swap Meet, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 16, 9:30 a.m. at the Koblerville Youth Center.

The Swap Meet is a one-day event that aims to create space for a “multi-family garage-sale style event,” according to the official registration form. It is being coordinated by Camacho’s office.
Camacho said he wants to help those who are already Christmas shopping, and families clearing out space in their home for the coming New Year. He also wants to bring community events to his precinct.
“We know in the south side there’s not much that goes on in regards to public family events,” Camacho said.
At the Swap Meet, vendors can sell “gently used” items, small household appliances, and “things your neighbor might need.”
Camacho said Precinct 1 applicants will be prioritized for the remaining slots, but applicants from other precincts will be considered if the slots cannot be filled by Precinct 1 vendors.
Camacho said the Swap Meet is one of two events happening at the same time at the Koblerville Youth Center.
He said the “main event” of the day is the Art Bazaar, which has already filled its 10-12 slots for vendors.
Camacho said the Art Bazaar will offer locally made arts and crafts. In addition, there will be two to three food vendors on site for refreshments.
The Koblerville Youth Center is adjacent to the Koblerville Basketball Court, which doubles as a bus stop for the Blue Line 1-B CNMI Transit system. CNMI Transit rides are available at no cost to passengers for the remainder of 2023.
