Castro was charged with robbery, assault with dangerous weapon, theft, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.
Govendo retained Castro’s $17,250 bail, and remanded him to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the preliminary hearing.
On Aug. 29, 2011, the prosecution said, Castro entered and robbed Capitol Poker, and took $2,000 cash. He was armed with a knife.
After seeing video footage of the robbery on the news, a sister of Castro called police and informed them that the defendant was staying in As Lito.
When arrested, George admitted getting close to $2,000 which he then spent playing poker at Sky Poker on Airport Road, police said.
