Prosecutor Dockter resigns

Her resignation means that 10 prosecutors have already left the AG’s Office for different reasons since Gov. Benigno R. Fitial appointed Attorney General Edward T. Buckingham in Sept. 2009.

Buckingham and Chief Prosecutor Rosemond B. Santos have not responded to inquiries of this reporter.

Since January, five prosecutors have left the criminal division, while one prosecutor from the civil division has resigned.

A former law clerk of Associate Judge David A. Wiseman, Dockter was hired by the AGO early this year to handle traffic cases.

Dockter re-filed last February the case against a defendant in a fatal vehicular collision last April.

The case was dismissed without prejudice by the court on Dec. 31, 2009 because the AGO could not proceed to trial last January due to lack of prosecutors.

Sources who requested anonymity complained about Buckingham’s leadership style and the “politics” at the AGO. They declined to elaborate.
