PSS Parent Council to hold statewide parent summit Dec. 13

(PSS) – The CNMI Public School System (PSS) Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is pleased to announce the Statewide Fall Parent Summit, taking place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Kensington Hotel in San Roque, Saipan. All PSS parents, guardians, and parent leaders are warmly encouraged to register and participate in this meaningful gathering dedicated to strengthening family engagement and elevating student success. Seats are limited, so early registration is highly encouraged.

This year’s Summit is anchored in the theme, “Collaborate for Success: Families as Partners in Learning,” highlighting the Commonwealth’s commitment to empower families with knowledge, tools, and support to help children thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

The event will bring together educators, program specialists, and community partners to deliver valuable information and resources for families, including: • Updates on PSS Strategic Performance Management • Findings and insights from the 2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey • Family and student support services provided through the Community Guidance Center

Participants will have opportunities to engage in conversations, ask questions, share experiences, and strengthen their voices as advocates for their children, schools, and communities.

PAC President George Cruz emphasized the Summit’s importance and the powerful role families play in shaping their child’s school experience:

“This Parent Summit is essential for our families. It gives parents and parent leaders the information, resources, and support they need to help their child succeed in school. When families understand how the system works and what tools are available, our students gain confidence, stability, and stronger learning outcomes. We want every parent to feel empowered, involved, and valued in their child’s education.”

Why Parents Should Attend Parents and guardians of PSS students are encouraged to register because the Summit will: • Strengthen partnerships between families and schools • Offer practical tools to support learning at home • Provide insights into emerging youth needs and trends • Connect families to PSS leadership and community resources • Foster collaboration and community-building among parents and parent leaders
