Red Cross holds first aid and adult CPR training

The training is a requirement for employees and classes are held each month, CPR instructor Lucio Aldan said.

Nine private sector employees, including eight from the bank, attended the training on Saturday.

According to Aldan, the focus of the training is adult CPR because the employees are not required to learn CPR for children.

Last month, Red Cross conducted training classes for employees of the Department of Public Safety.

The training included child and adult CPR.

The employees of the Public School System will undergo a similar training next week.

Aldan said community members may register for the training.

“Nurses and other people in the medical field are not the only ones who could take the training,” Aldan said. “This training will help community members in emergency cases.”

Those who complete the training will receive a CPR certification card valid for one year and a first aid certification valid for three years.
