KagHS teacher of the year Jose Kaipat is the club’s advisor. She told Variety that she is extremely proud of the club and its accomplishments.
“They were so excited to perform a dance number for the Japanese students because they are proud of Carolinian culture and want to share their rich heritage to the world,” Kaipat told Variety.
She noted that the indigenous culture of the Marianas is slowly changing and the club is “a great way to remind all of us of where the Chamorros and Carolinians came from.”
She said the club is not only composed of Carolinian students but also those with mixed heritage.
The club welcomes all students who are interested in learning about the Carolinian culture and everything that is Refaluwasch.
The club will be performing for another group of students from Fukuchiyama High School tomorrow from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
