Registration open for project planning and development training

REGISTRATION has begun for the 2024 CNMI Project Planning and Development Training, according to the Administration for Native Americans’ Pacific Region Training and Technical Assistance Center website.

The training is set for Oct. 7 to 9, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan.

Registrants will learn how to plan grant-funded community projects that advance the community goals of participating organizations. Participants will also learn how to overcome obstacles related to completing their projects.

“The development process covered in this training can be used to prepare projects for submission to a variety of funding sources, federal and non-federal, and attendees will walk away from this training with a solid project outline that can be further developed and submitted for funding from any funding source,” a media release stated.

The training opportunity comes at no cost, but registering organizations must be eligible for Administration for Native Americans grant funding.

The following may be eligible to participate:

• Public and non-profit private agencies serving Native Hawaiians;

• Public and nonprofit private agencies serving Native peoples from Guam, American Samoa, or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands;

• Native-led colleges and universities in Hawai’i, Guam, American Samoa or the CNMI that serve Native American Pacific Islanders;

• Native Community Development Financial Institutions; and,

• Territorial government agencies in Guam, American Samoa, or the CNMI.

The board of directors for participating organizations should also be 51% or more “Native-led.”

The training is limited to two people per eligible organization.
