Fund comptroller Noel Soria’s last day is on Nov. 22.
“To ensure a smooth transition and integration of the newly installed and soon to be integrated pension software and accounting program, I hereby appoint Mr. David Demapan to the position of comptroller immediately,” Guerrero said in a memorandum sent to various government agencies.
Demapan previously served as comptroller of the Commonwealth Ports Authority and the now defunct Marianas Public Lands Authority.
He is the brother of Chief Justice Miguel S. Demapan.
Guerrero said the comptroller is an essential integral part of the Retirement Fund which administers the government’s pension program, the Group Health Life Insurance Program, and the workers compensation program.
