Ignacio Repeki Aldan Jr. is escorted by Corrections officers at the local courthouse for a bail hearing on Monday.
IGNACIO Repeki Aldan Jr. is accused of assaulting a man and stealing his vehicle.
Aldan, 33, was charged with robbery, theft of a vehicle, assault and battery, theft, and disturbing the peace.
He appeared before Superior Court Judge Joseph N. Camacho on Monday morning for a bail hearing while in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
Assistant Public Defender Molly Dennert was appointed to represent Aldan, while Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.
According to the prosecution, the robbery charge alone is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Barcinas asked the court to maintain the $15,000 cash bail, citing the defendant’s previous juvenile criminal record.
Judge Camacho granted the request, remanded Aldan in custody, and ordered him to return to court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 3 at 10 a.m., and for arraignment on Sept. 15 at 9 a.m.
Aldan was identified as the suspect after investigators reviewed surveillance footage from businesses near the scene of the incident on the evening of Aug. 18, 2025, according to the complaint.
The victim told police his vehicle was stolen near Orchid Poker in Garapan.
He said he had just arrived at his home behind Orchid Poker when an individual approached and punched him twice in the face, causing his cell phone to fall to the ground. He said Aldan picked up the phone, grabbed the car keys from the victim’s hand, and drove off in the victim’s 2015 silver Toyota Prius. During the struggle, the victim managed to take a red flask containing alcohol from the suspect.
A witness told police he saw Aldan struggling with the victim, pushing him away from the vehicle, and then speeding off northbound. The witness also said that, as shown on surveillance footage, Aldan was seen playing poker and drinking from the red flask while wearing a jersey with the word “Titan” on the back and the number “27” below it.
The following day, police found the stolen vehicle at the Tanapag cemetery with Aldan’s jersey nearby.
