Roman Torres gets 4 days for assaulting girlfriend

Torres, 45, signed a plea agreement admitting the offense of assault and battery involving the crime of domestic violence, and criminal mischief.

Superior Court Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona sentenced Torres to one year imprisonment, all suspended.

Manglona directed Torres not to have any contact with his victim during the term of his probation.

Torres was required to pay a $50 fine, a $25 assessment fee within 30 days, and an annual probation fee of $100.

Torres will submit to an evaluation by the Commonwealth Guidance Center and will abide by any recommended treatment, the court said.

Manglona required Torres to perform 100 hours of community work service, and to obey all federal and CNMI laws.
