Ronald Ealey gets 44 days for theft

Ealey pled guilty to two counts of theft.

For the first count, he was sentenced to a prison term of one year, all suspended except for 14 days, not subject to parole, early release, or work release.

For the second count, he was sentenced to another prison term of one year, all suspended except for 30 days, not subject to parole, early release, or work release, but he will receive credit for time served.

His sentences will run consecutively.

Ealey has been in custody since Oct. 27 and will be released on Dec. 9.

Upon release, he will be placed under supervised probation for two years, and must not have any direct or indirect contact with the victims  during his entire probationary period.

He must pay a $100 fine, $25 in court costs, as well as a $120 probation fee before his probation ends.

Ealey is also required to perform 80 hours of community service at a rate of no fewer than eight hours per month.

He must attend and complete any recommended counseling by the Community Guidance Center, and submit to random drug and/or alcohol testing.

Ealey was arrested in June for stealing a cage containing live birds and eggs worth less than $250.

He was also arrested in October for stealing a hydraulic jack also worth less than $250.

Ealey was represented by Assistant Public Defender Emily Thomson while Assistant Attorney General Heather C. Barcinas appeared for the CNMI government.
