Commission Chairman Diego M. Songao said they want to hire an executive director, a legal counsel and a professional consultant.
The commission needs funding to hire these personnel, and Songao said he has already asked Rota Mayor Joseph S. Inos and the legislative delegation to provide financial assistance.
Songao said he and the four other commissioners are reviewing the rules and regulations of the casino commission on Tinian and in other two jurisdictions.
Whatever provisions that are also applicable to Rota will be incorporated in the commission’s rules and regulations, he added.
Songao said they have not met any prospective casino investors although they heard that certain business entities have expressed interest in Rota.
Earlier, the new owner of the Rota Resort and Country Club, Hee K. Cho, said he might consider a casino operation on Rota.
