Rota delegation passes $40K spending bill

THE Rota Legislative Delegation on Friday unanimously passed House Local Bill 24-4, appropriating a total of $40,731 in local poker and Commonwealth casino license fee collections for the island’s medical subsistence allowance and mayor’s office.

Authored by Rep. Julie Marie A. Ogo, H.B. 24-4 now goes to the governor.

It proposes appropriating the $40,000 poker fee collections for the following:

–$19,500 for the Rota medical subsistence allowance.

–$500 for the Department of Finance for the mailing of the Rota subsistence allowance.

–$20,000 for the Office of the Rota Mayor’s operations.

The bill also allocates Rota’s share of the casino license fee, amounting to $731, to the Rota Department of Lands and Natural Resources for fuel and lubrication.
