Rota delegation wants poker fee hike to go to scholarships, retroactive pay

Public Law 17-2 increased the poker license fee to $4,500 from $4,000 for each unit.

Santos, Ind.-Rota, said the 50 percent of $500 should be allocated to Rota scholarships  while the other half goes to the retroactive payment of eligible Rota government employees as required by Public Law 7-31.

“During the Rota Legislative Delegation’s recent session, it was unanimously voted on that the distribution of the total appropriation of the estimated amount of $6,500 shall be equally distributed among those affected Rota government employees at the soonest time possible,” she said.

In her letter to Finance Secretary Larissa Larson, Santos said she has been receiving frequent calls concerning the retroactive payment.

“Many have also expressed that receiving a little is better than none at all,” she told Larson.
