U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Alex R. Munson also ordered Inos to pay government a special assessment fee of $100 immediately after sentencing.
Inos was arrested for robbing a poker game room on Rota last August and was convicted for the use of a firearm in commission of a violent crime.
Munson said Inos will be placed at the FCI Sheridan Facility in Portland, Oregon.
Inos, who is represented by attorney Robert T. Torres, has 10 days to file an appeal.
Inos, the son of Rota’s mayor, was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after the hearing.
The federal government was represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney James Benedetto.
Federal Probation Officer Margarita Wonenberg was also present during the sentencing.
Munson said while incarcerated, Inos is “ordered to take advantage of any vocational, educational (college degree), psychological counseling, anger management counseling, financial management counseling, drug treatment programs, mental health counseling, group therapy sessions and in-house college programs.”
During his supervised release, Inos “shall not commit another federal, state or local crime.”
Moreover, he “shall not unlawfully use and/or possess a controlled substance and shall submit to one drug test within 15 days of release from imprisonment and at least two periodic drug tests thereafter, not to exceed eight tests per month, as directed by the U.S. probation officer, for the detection of drug and alcohol use.”
He must refrain from alcohol use and is prohibited from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon or have such weapon where he resides.
In addition, he must submit a DNA sample at the direction of the U.S. Probation Office.
“The defendant shall participate in a mental health program which shall include assessment and treatment under the direction of the U.S. Probation Office,” Munson said.
Inos cannot gamble at poker machines and is restricted from entering poker establishments.
He is likewise directed to perform 100 hours of community service under the direction of the U.S. Probation Office.
