The new officers started their duties on July 1 following the installation program which took place at the Palms Resort Saipan last week.
Installed into office were the club president Kim Forrester, vice president Nel Matanguihan, secretary and past president Glen Perez and treasurer Elly Stoilova.
The different department will be handled by its new directors: director of club service, Mike Tripp; director of community service, Angelo Villagomez; director of international service, past president Vicente Babauta; director of vocational service, Wayne Gillespie; foundation service, past president Dennis Yoshimoto; and sergeant-at-arms, Steve Jang.
This year’s president-elect is Michael Brazel.
The new set of officers and directors were sworn into office by past president Timothy Bellas.
After the installation ceremony, Kim swore in Lily Nguyen as the newest member of the Saipan Rotary Club.
Rotarian Victoria Conception was named the Rotarian of the Year for rendering service above self, while Marian Aldan-Pierce was recognized as the Rotary Club of Saipan’s Citizen of the Year.
The Rotary Club of Saipan was established on Feb. 16, 1968 and has, since then, implemented several projects that benefited the community.
Among the club’s popular annual projects is Las Vegas Night which is slated for July 18.
Las Vegas night is the club’s biggest fundraiser activity whose proceeds will help fund the club’s projects.
