AN Oregon-based private company has filed a lawsuit in federal court against Sablan Construction Co. Ltd. and businessman Jesus S. Sablan over alleged non-payment of debt.
Trans Pacific Export Co., through attorney Mark K. Williams, alleged that Sablan Construction and Sablan owe the company $122,408 plus interest.
Trans Pacific, in the complaint filed on Friday, also asked the U.S. District Court to order the defendants to pay its attorney’s fees and costs in filing the case.
Williams alleged in the complaint that on March 20, 2001, Sablan Construction with Jesus Sablan as guarantor executed a promissory note in the amount of $122,408 for value received.
The note was payable to the order of Trans Pacific plus 12 percent interest per annum, Williams said.
“Defendants have failed to pay the aggregating sum of principal, and interest and plaintiff has demanded payment of the note many times, but defendants have refused,” the lawyer alleged.
