Sahagon admits assaulting wife, son, gets 30 days

Superior Court Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed  a one-year imprisonment for each count to run consecutively, but all suspended except for 30 days, with credit for time served.

Sahagon will be placed on two years probation and will not have any contact with his victims.

He will pay a $200 fine, court costs and probation fees, and will complete 100 hours of community work service.

He will undergo evaluation at the Community Guidance Center on anger management as well as alcohol and drug counseling, and will complete any recommended course of treatment.

He will not possess or consume alcohol or controlled substances, and will stay away from establishments or individuals that promote or sell such items.

Assistant Attorneys General Nicole Driscoll and Eileen Escudero Wisor prosecuted the case while Sahagon was represented by Assistant Public Defenders Matthew Meyer and Douglas Hartig.

Police said the victim called for assistance after Sahagon, who was drunk at that time, assaulted her and her son.
