THE facilities of the island’s baseball field will be repaired thanks to funding from the Community Block Grant program.
According to Commonwealth Development Authority Executive Director Maria Lourdes S. Ada, the CDA board recommended the purchase of bleachers and canopies for the baseball field in Susupe.
“We want to make it a fully functioning stadium because baseball is the favorite pastime here in the CNMI,” Ada told Variety.
Several other projects are vying for the block grant funds, but Ada noted that improving the baseball field would benefit the entire community.
On Tinian, public library will be built through the Community Block Grant program, Ada said.
Rota, for its part, wants to build a jogging pathway similar to what Saipan has, she added.
“They also want to promote healthy living through regular exercises,” Ada said.
