Walter Manglona, Aging Center program coordinator, said the Saipan senior citizens will also continue to strengthen their ties with the manamko’ on Tinian and Rota.
“We want to build a strong bond among the islands’ senior citizens,” he said.
On Nov. 12, senior citizens from the Mangilao center led by its president Ann Benavente and center manager Carmen Aguon will visit Saipan.
The visit, Manglona said, is part of the Mangilao center’s program.
During the visit, Manglona said they will explore activities, whether creational or cultural, that will allow Saipan and Mangilao senior citizens to interact with each other.
The manamko’ of Saipan will be performing special numbers for their Guam visitors, he said.
They are also considering playing golf and pool with the Guam manamko’.
“We will show them what programs we have here,” Manglona said.
To prepare for the visit, he said he will provide musical training to the Saipan senior citizens.
This will include voice and piano lessons, said Manglona, a musician and film producer.
He said many of the manamko’ have signified interest in musical training, especially those with a background in music.
