THE Saipan Junior Big Band held an inaugural concert in the Marianas High School cafeteria on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025.
Jun Ho Park of the Saipan-Korean Association’s Culture and Arts Committee said the band members are Korean and Chinese students on Saipan.
He said the concert “celebrates the launch of the Saipan Junior Big Band, which is dedicated to fostering young musical talent in our community.”
For their performance at MHS, the group was joined by the Korea Junior Big Band.
The group also performed at Saipan Community School on Jan. 27, 2025.
The Saipan Junior Big Band members are Juhwan Hyun, Elijah, and Dong Xiang on alto saxophone; Jeewon Son, Siwoo Lee, and Sehwa Lim on flute; Jeongwoo Choi and Jiwan Lim on trumpet; Seungwoo Lee on clarinet; Sam on tuba; Dayul Kwak and Jiyul Lee on electric guitar; and Seungeun Ha on bass guitar.
Among their sponsors are the Saipan Mayor’s Office and Stayhill Resort.
