Club president Ladyvir Canape said they adopted the bus stops five years ago.
“So we maintain them and each year, before the [start] of the new school year, we repaint them,” she added.
For the Lower Navy Hill bus stop, the club had to repair it after it was damaged by Super Typhoon Yutu.
As for the Gualo Rai bus stop, Canape said it had been turned into a dumping site so club members had to clean it up before repainting it.

Canape said she is grateful to club members Tessie Tan, Alma Famat and Jhun Canape for volunteering to clean and repair the bus stops.
She also thanked Mar Masilungan and Agnes Camacho for providing food and refreshments to the volunteers.
“These bus stops are for the children,” Ladyvir Canape said. “We want the kids who use these bus stops to be safe and not be bothered by trash and vandalism.”
She said the Saipan Marianas Lions Club has adopted three bus stops since 2016. The third is located in Chalan Laulau.
