THE Saipan Mayor’s Office expressed gratitude for being nominated for the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Star Agency Award.

“Just being nominated for the award means a lot,” Saipan Mayor Ramon “RB” Camacho said. “The Saipan Mayor’s Office is happy that our community work has been recognized by the business community. We were not really expecting that.”

Camacho added, “It’s not for recognition or taking credit … and not just for keeping the community clean but also for the safety of the community.”

He said all the credit for the nomination and recognition goes to his office’s staffers and employees, “who are hardworking and doing an outstanding and excellent job, day in and day out.”

The chamber’s Star Agency Award recognizes “a CNMI government entity with exceptional service, innovative practices, and policies that enhance the economy of the CNMI.” The 2024 recipient was the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority.

Camacho said he is also working with the Department of Public Safety and the Public School System for the implementation of after-school programs in the villages.

“We want to keep the youth away from temptations, criminal activities, and other negative influences,” Camacho said.

“Safe Community, Safe Village, Clean Island.”
