
AIRMAN First Class Benedict M. Obando of Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, has been recognized for earning a place as one of the Top Graduates and as an Ammo Warrior of his U.S. Air Force Technical Training class at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.
On Aug. 22, 2025, Obando completed an intensive seven-week Air Force munitions instructional tech training program, demonstrating exceptional academic performance, leadership, and technical skill.
Obando also received the Ammo Warrior Award, a distinguished recognition in the munitions career field. The award, which had not been presented in four years, honors airmen who exhibit outstanding performance, professionalism, and commitment to the mission. Notably, Obando was the only one among the top students in his class to receive this honor.
“I am honored to represent Saipan in the U.S. Air Force,” Obando said. “Earning a place as one of the Top Graduates and receiving the Ammo Warrior Award reflects my dedication and the unwavering support of my family and loved ones. I hope my achievements inspire others to pursue their goals with determination.”
