Restaurant owner Juvy Rojo said for its grand opening, Sandy Juvy Restaurant & Catering will be serving a special buffet lunch with huge discounts.
“Our special welcome treat to our diners will be a 50 percent discount from our $9 lunch buffet, or only $4.50 per person,” Rojo said.
The buffet on Sunday will include sumptuous island favorites such as kaldereta, or beef stew made with tomato sauce, potatoes, spices, liver spread, olives, and bell peppers; embutido or meatloaf prepared Filipino style; calamari or fried squid; rebusado or seafood dish; fried chicken; and vegetable chop suey.
Appetizers such as coco and vegetable salad will also be included. Desserts to cap your lunch will include island favorites such as fruits, biko or rice cake with caramel topping, puto or steamed rice cake, kutchinta which is a Filipino delicacy made of rice flour and sugar, maja blanca which is a dessert made from coconut milk, cornstarch and sugar.
The lunch buffet includes bottomless iced tea.
For its regular menu, Sand Juvy Restaurant & Catering will serve a variety of breakfast dishes, salads, sashimi, sizzling plates, steaks, barbeques and baby back ribs, set menu, sauté, fried foods, noodles, ramen, ala carte, chasers, and Filipino favorites.
Rojo said party package meals are also available from $7 to $9 per person.
Sand Juvy Restaurant & Catering is located across from the Downtown Market. The restaurant, which accepts cash only, can accommodate more than 50 persons and is open from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner every day.
