Teachers created a qualifying test based on the Public School System’s standards and benchmarks per grade level.
Students took the qualifying tests in the classroom to determine the top three highest scorers who then competed in the math challenge.
“The reason why we do this competition is to help students prepare for state-level assessment which is the standard based assessment that will be held in January and April,” said Carreon.
The top three winners were: 1st place – Jasmine Indalecio; 2nd place – Cheyenne Paner; and 3rd place – William Sablan.
“We would also like to congratulate Corin Rengiil’s fifth grade class for winning the team round competition,” Carreon added.
