San Vicente resident arrested for ‘ice’ trafficking

The arrest order was issued by Associate Judge Perry B. Inos on Wednesday evening.

During Lizama’s initial appearance yesterday in Superior Court, Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona retained the $30,000 cash bail set by Inos.

Lizama was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing.

Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Petersburg represented the government while the court appointed Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller as Lizama’s defense counsel.

In his affidavit, Drug Enforcement Task Force Detective Sean White said their office purchased $100 worth of “ice” from Lizama through a cooperating source during a controlled buy operation on Oct. 7, 2010 in Garapan.

The white crystalline substance obtained from Lizama tested presumptive positive result for “ice,” White said.

Inos issued the eavesdropping and search warrant against Lizama.

On Oct. 6, 2010, White said a cooperating source revealed he could buy “ice” from Lizama who had “numerous sources of supply on Saipan.”

Lizama lived near San Vicente Elementary School and could also be reached through her cellular phone, police learned from the cooperating source.

The cooperating source was told by Lizama that she had a Chinese friend that could supply ice “24 hours a day,” police said.
