Scheduled water service interruption for San Antonio on March 6

(Commonwealth Utilities Corp.) — There will be a  scheduled  water service interruption affecting customers in  San Antonio on Wednesday, March  6, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The interruption is necessary to facilitate the work of Tropex Garden, CUC’s contractor for the San Antonio waterline replacement project, to connect the new eight-inch waterline to the existing 12-inch water main. The work is needed to transition the water system from the old waterline to the newly installed PVC waterline. Multiple tapping points are designed for this project to provide sufficient and beneficial water services for customers in San Antonio.

The San Antonio waterline replacement project is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency. After passing the required testing and disinfection procedures, the newly installed distribution line will be commissioned.

Please anticipate low to no water pressure during the transition phase from the old water system to the newly installed PVC waterline. The duration of the water service interruption may change due to potential issues.

CUC appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as it works to ensure reliable service for its customers. For more information, contact the CUC hotline at (670) 236-4333, visit its website at https://www.cucgov.org or monitor its Facebook page.
