Sellem gets 2 months for disturbing the peace

Sellem was arrested early this year after his sister-in-law caught him peeking while her daughter was taking a shower.

In his order yesterday, Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja directed Sellem to report to Corrections today to complete his jail term.

Upon his release on June 29, 2011, Sellem will be placed on two years probation.

He will pay a $100 fine, a $25 court fee and a $200 probation fee.

He  will write a letter of apology and will not have any contact with his victim and her family members.

Naraja directed Sellem to submit to a mental examination by a licensed physician, therapist or counselor, focusing on sex offender counseling.

Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest represented the government during the change of plea hearing yesterday.

Assistant Public Defender Adam Miles served as counsel for Sellem.

Sellem was caught by his sister-in-law peeking into the bathroom window and touching himself while her 14-year-old daughter was taking a shower at about 5:45 a.m., Jan. 3.

The wife said she heard a noise at the rear portion of their residence while her daughter was in the bathroom.

When she checked outside, the wife said she saw Sellem standing on a green folding chair and peeking into the bathroom window.

Asked what he was doing, Sellem said he was looking for his lime. He then walked back to his residence.
