With Sen. Henry H. San Nicolas, Covenant-Tinian, absent, all the eight senators approved the nominations of Jose Lifoifoi and Barry Toves to the CPA board and Eric Plinske to the CSC board.
Sen. Frank Cruz, R-Tinian and chairman of the Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigation, noted some issues facing the Civil Service Commission particularly those involving Department of Public Safety personnel.
These issues, he said, were not addressed by the CSC board due to lack of quorum.
Now that the Senate had confirmed a new commissioner, he said he would like to see a “proper course of action” to be taken as soon as possible.
Cruz said he would also like to see a policy for a desk audit at all government agencies.
