THE Senate on Friday confirmed the nomination of Marvin I. Deleon Guerrero to the Marianas Visitors Authority board of directors.
Nominated by Gov. Arnold I. Palacios in September to represent Saipan, Deleon Guerrero is the manager of BankPacific on Saipan. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Argosy University in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is also a local entrepreneur and a musician.
The chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations, Sen. Celina Babauta, issued a report recommending the confirmation of Deleon Guerrero’s appointment, saying that the committee has reviewed his credentials, experience and education.
Sen. Jude U. Hofschneider expressed his support for Deleon Guerrero’s nomination, noting that he wears “so many hats, experiences and skills.”
The Tinian lawmaker said he appreciates that Deleon Guerrero accepted the governor’s appointment to the MVA board.
