Senate OKs bills to fund school repair projects

House Bill 16-106, which now goes to the governor, will  re-appropriate $10,213 from Saipan Local Law 14-30, which concerns the matching fund for the design and construction of the waterline project and water reservoir repair in Kannat Tabla three years ago.

The main sponsor of H.B. 16-106 was Rep. Justo S. Quitugua, D-Saipan.

The Senate also passed H.B. 16-105 to appropriate $291,210 for renovations of public school classrooms and the paving of school parking lots.

According to the bill, “the funds appropriated… shall not be subject to fiscal year limitation and shall not be reprogrammed for any other purposes.”

H.B. 16-105 was sponsored by Quitugua, House Minority Leader Oscar M. Babauta, Covenant-Saipan, Rep. David M. Apatang, R-Saipan, and House Floor Leader Joseph James N. Camacho, R-Saipan.
