Dennis Mendiola
SENATE President Dennis James Mendiola, R-Rota, assigned committee chairmanships to members of the 24th Senate during an organizational session on Monday.
Sen. Frank Q. Cruz, R-Tinian, will chair the Committee on Rules and Procedures, and the Committee on Executive Appointments and Governmental Investigations.
Sen. Jude U. Hofschneider, R-Tinian, will chair the Fiscal Affairs Committee and the Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications Committee.
Senate Vice President Karl King-Nabors, R-Tinian, will chair Judiciary, Government and Law as well as Federal Relations and Military Affairs.
Senate Floor Leader Donald Manglona, Ind.-Rota, will chair the Committee on Health, Welfare and Programs.
Sen. Corina Magofna, Ind.-Saipan, will chair Resources, Economic Development and Workforce as well as Gaming.
Sen. Ronnie Calvo, Ind.-Rota, will chair the Education and Youth Affairs Committee.
The other senators are Saipan Democrats Celina R. Babauta and Manny Gregory T. Castro.
