SENATE President Edith Deleon Guerrero said the previous administration deposited $200 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds into a “trust account” at the Bank of Guam.
“It is important to know what funds are available to provide the necessary services to our people,” she said in separate letters to Finance Secretary Tracy B. Norita and Bank of Guam Vice President Amoretta Carlson
Citing the Freedom of Information Act and Open Government Act, she is asking them to provide the following information:
1) Any and all information pertaining and relating to the trust account at the Bank of Guam that was opened by the previous administration.
2) Any and all information pertaining and relating to the closure of the trust account on January 11, 2023, or earlier by the current administration.
3) Any other related information about the closed trust account.
From the Finance secretary, Deleon Guerrero is also requesting a copy of the CNMI government’s ARPA spending plan and any amendments submitted and approved by the U.S. Treasury.
